Kid Reporter: Nature Seekers

By Matthew Kulnick June 2, 2021

This year my family tried home-schooling for the first time ever. My mom didn’t want us to just sit around the house; she wanted us to have some hands-on activities so that’s how we discovered Nature Seekers.

I was astonished when we pulled into the big beautiful gates of the Bonnet House and was excited that this would be my new outdoor classroom. I met my new teachers and my new friends and the adventure began.

We hiked, learned about nature, participated in live theatre, and if we were lucky enough, we would see the Bonnet House monkey.  Every few weeks the adventure took me across the street to Birch State Park where I discovered some new things. The Big tree was one of my favorites. The other things I liked were the occasional gopher tortoise and the fun trails.

Nature Seekers has taught me a lot about science and nature and I am very grateful for this experience. I have developed a newfound appreciation for my surroundings and love sharing fun facts I’ve learned with others.
