March 19, 2015
Five deserving high school seniors enrolled in a Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe or Palm Beach County public or private school will be selected to receive $25,000 in total scholarship funds thanks to BankUnited and the Miami HEAT.

Now in its 19th year, the Miami HEAT Scholarship Program will award five $5,000 scholarships, thanks in part to a sponsorship from BankUnited:

·         Three (3) $5,000 HEAT Scholarships
·         One (1) $5,000 Alec Kessler Student-Athlete Scholarship
·         One (1) $5,000 Dr. Jack Ramsay Scholarship

“Nothing is more crucial than a good education to help you get ahead in life,” said BankUnited President, Florida Bank, Tom Cornish. “BankUnited is proud to partner with the Miami Heat for the second year to support some of South Florida’s most deserving high school seniors.”

Miami HEAT Scholarships presented by BankUnited will be awarded based on excellent academic performance, outstanding community service and financial need. Students may submit applications to the Miami HEAT postmarked by April 4, 2015.

“Education is a flagship cause for the Miami HEAT and has been since the inception of the franchise," said Eric Woolworth, President of The HEAT Group's Business Operations. "Because pursuing a college degree is almost as difficult as funding one, we offer five HEAT Scholarships to deserving seniors thanks in large part to the generosity of our partners at BankUnited."
